Shake Up The New Year! - Timeless Tuesday 252

Happy New Year's Eve everyone!  Amazing that today is the LAST day of 2013.  This year was like a runaway car that never stopped for anything.  I feel like I blinked and now it is gone.  However, for me this is good because my husband will be home in less than 30 days from his deployment! That is very exciting for us and we are looking forward to 2014. I hope you are too!

Well, I am back from my holiday travels today and I will confess that I am still on holiday time, not realizing that it is Tuesday and we are back with another Timeless Tuesday challenge.  (Smack head here...) So, after unpacking, I quickly made my challenge card.  We also are featuring our final December Guest Designer.  This week we are happy to introduce  Jessi Fogan!  Her challenge is to create a shaker card.

Fun fun!!! It has been a very long time since I made one of these so I was happy to do this.

For my card, I used this months new release of Numbers in Blossom to create this New Year's card.  I really like how it turned out and the beads made for wonderful addition.  I used Flourishes Classic white cardstock for the base and cut it to be a 6" x 4.25" size.  I used some patterned paper from Theresa Collins Memories of Time for the background and used my Radiant Rectangles Spellbinders die set for the frame.  I then cut out the center of the die cut out to be the window of my shaker portion. Some acetate was glued to the center before adding the beads/glitter combination. Some that were in my stash.   I then stamped the numbers onto another piece of white cardstock just a bit larger than the center cut out so that I can adhere it to some foam tape. I colored the numbers in the following Copic Colors: W2, W4, W6. BG11, BG13, BG15, BG49, YR21, YR23, YR24, YR27, Y02, Y08, G21, G24, and G28.  More foam tape was added to the entire shaker panel to be placed on top of the patterned paper.  I finished the card with some sheer ribbon which I gave a curled look to, a paper flower, and some jute twine.  Here is a closer look of the beads:

We hope you play along with us this week in this fun challenge for your chance to win! Be sure to stop by to check out and leave some love on the fabulous projects the Timeless Tuesday Team have created!!  Have a fantastic New Year!

    1. OMGosh, Deborah! Now, I'm going to have to go back and make another shaker card--just like this! It's beautiful! I LOVE the warm grays and aquas together, and the large shaker window looks amazing! The striped flower at the top is perfect for bringing out the little yellow flowers on the numbers, too. I hope 2014 is a Happy Happy Year for you and your family! ~Hugs!
