Lucky Charm - Your Next Stamp February Release Inspiration and Some News

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and ready to tackle this next week. As you saw from the title, I do have some news, but I will get to it at the end. First...

Today is another inspiration day and I am sharing with you a card using the new release set of Lucky Charm.  This guy cracks me up and I just love the correction on the sentiment.

I started with coloring him in with Copics and using some Ranger Tinsel Embossing powder for the hat.  Can we talk about this EP for a second? This is NOT my favorite of all embossing powders.  It doesn't seem to stick well and find myself having to emboss several times before getting good coverage.  When I purchased this over the holidays, I was picturing some fabulous sparkle and glitter. It's quite the opposite.  The jar looks like it is full of glitter and when you spread it on, it has a lot of glitter. Then you shake off the excess and you are left with minimal powder.  When you heat it, whatever glitter IS on the image gets blown off. It's a shame because how pretty and glittery it could be if it were just formulated differently.  I know this picture looks like it is sparkly and you do get some, but it is all about the angle of the picture. : ) I digress... Once the image was colored in and embossed, I used the coordinating die to cut him out.  I added a little Wink of Stella to the shamrock for added sparkle. Using some dp, I used the YNS Grass Tufts die to cut out the edge of the dp and added a little black card stock to the back to break up the paper. I added the sentiment onto the base of the card and popped up the image up. The card was finished with some sparkly YNS Gold Tinsel Gumdrops.

And for the news.... I am sad to say that I am stepping down from the Your Next Stamp design team. This is my last card for the month with YNS.  It was a very hard decision to make considering that I have been part of Karen's creative family for nearly 8 years!! I don't even know where that time went.  I have had such a wonderful time sharing all my creations using the YNS products with you all, but it was time for me to step down and focus on my family. My children will head to college in a little over a year and I would like to spend as much time as I can with them. I have also started a new job almost 6 months ago which has been a new balancing act for the family and I.  Karen, THANK YOU so much for allowing me to be part of your awesome team all these years! XOXO

Thank you for stopping by and make it a great one!

The Cat's Pajamas TCPTUES365 - Stencils

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I hope you all had a nice long weekend and are ready to tackle the rest of the week.  And we hope that you include tackling the final week of this Cat's Pajamas Stamps challenge of Stencils.

For my card I used the TCP Stenzils of Skinny Alphabet. There are many uses for this fun Stenzil (and many others in the store) to create beautiful decor or paper crafts.  If you haven't seen the fun items Alma found in her local dollar store and used some TCP products, check it out here!

I stenciled the side scrolls using the TCP Stenzils of Hand drawn Scrolls and some grey Memento ink.  The word 'Love' was stenciled in using Memento ink while 'always' was stamped using the TCP set of Words of Love

To see all the other stenciled creations the Cat Pack have made, be sure to check out the TCP Blog! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. Have a great one!

Your Next Stamp Friday Challenge - Create Your Own Background

Happy Valentines Day!

There is still time to play along in the YNS Friday challenge! This challenge is creating your own background.

For my card, I did a little water coloring and paired it with the YNS set of Fabulous Feathers.  I like the serene feel this card gives and all that blue pops.

I used some Strathmore water color paper and used my distress inks to create the background.  Once the color was dried, I stamped the feathers and colored those in in using my water color pens and highlighting it with my white gel pen.  I then flicked some water droplets onto the card to create the water marks.  The sentiments were then stamped onto the panel and finished with some YNS gumdrops and a few rhinestones.

Thanks for taking a peek and we hope you play along! Don't forget to link up your creation on the YNS Blog for your chance to win a stamp set of your choice!

February Release and Blog Hop - Your Next Stamp

Hey hey!! It's here! The February release for Your Next Stamp.  Did you get to see all the awesome sets and dies being released? And all the fabulous creations the DT put together?  Well the wait is over and now you can purchased your wish list you have been keeping during the sneak peeks. :)

For my hop card, I am using the super fun set of Cheeky Monkey.  In today's digital age of pictures, this image pretty much sums it up. hahaha! I just love it.

I used the YNS die of Instalove Polaroid to create the frame.  The image was stamped with the YNS ink pad in Stone Gray, colored with Copics, and cut out using the coordinating die set. The image was popped up on the inside of the frame while I stamped and and cut out the 'Smile' sentiment to be popped up in the corner.  The cheeky monkey sentiment was stamped directly onto the card base and was finished using some YNS gumdrops.

As always, Karen has an awesome sale for you to use as you purchase that wish list.

Be sure to keep hopping along and leaving a little love along the way.  One random winner will be chosen and will win a $25 gift certificate to the YNS Store!  Thanks for stopping by!

Your Next Stamp February Sneak Peek - Pigs Can Fly

It's sneaky peek time with Your Next Stamp! Today is day 2 of sneak peeks, but this release is cuteness overload. This set I am sharing today is one of my favorites. How can you not love it?

This set of Pigs Can Fly has adorable images and even better sentiments.  It was hard to choose which to use, but you really can't go wrong with any of them.

I used the new release Cloud panel die over some pattered paper of clouds to create the background.  The image was stamped, colored, and cut out with the coordinating die set to be popped up over the panel. I heat embossed a  strip of cardstock with the sentiment and placed that over the panel as well.  The card was finished with some fun Rainbow Sparkle gumdrops.

Karen is giving away each of the sets being previewed. Today, 3 random comments will be selected from the YNS blog or IG and each person will win 1 of 3 sets. All comments must be left by February 12th at midnight and the winners will be announced on 2/13.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great one!
