29 Again? TCP Pop Up Card

Hey everyone!

Today the fabulous Christine Okken  has a great tutorial on SCS using the TCP Basic Pop Up die.  If you haven't used this simple die and are still using that craft knife and ruler, put it down and check out this super easy die HERE.

In staying with the theme of Christine's tutorial, I made a birthday pop up card using the set Sassy Birthday and the beautiful Mini Exotic Butterflies die set.  Here is the front:

For this, I made this card basically two layers put together.  One being the inside where the pop up cut outs are and then layered another card base behind it.  In hindsight, I could have just placed a layer over the top, but I wanted to cover the whole thing so that the cut out was not visible. Here, I used some patterned paper from AC to layer the bottom with the sentiment and butterflies popped up with some rhinestones to decorate. It looks like a normal card, but when the recipient opens it, they will find this:

How fun is that?  I stamped the sentiment on some card stock and used my Spellbinders oval die to cut it out and place it on the top back pop up.  I then layered some butterflies throughout and added a panel on the bottom that can be written on.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Simply Said set.  The patterned paper is busy enough that I wanted to keep it fairly simple, yet cheery enough for a birthday.

If you would like to see a video tutorial on how to use this die, be sure to head over to SCS and check out Christine's tutorial.  Super cute!  Thanks for stopping in and make it a great Wednesday!
