Cultivate Love - Flourishes New Release

Happy Monday!

I have another beautiful Flourishes new release to share with you and it happens to be a new illustrator as well- Sam Pickard.  This set is called Old Tea Rose

Isn't it just a lovely set?  This set had inspired me to do a little water coloring which is something I have not done in many moons! With this, I tried coloring a bit outside the lines.  That was a little hard for me, but when I see that, I really love the look.  I just had a hard time achieving that same look, however, still pleased with the outcome.

I stamped the image with VersaFine black ink and heat set it on some watercolor paper (cold press) before using my Ranger Distress Inks in Fired Brick, Tattered Rose, and Shabby Shutters to get the colors for the rose.  I stamped those colors on my acrylic block and then used my water pen to pick up the colors.  I then accented the center and the leaves with some ShinHan Watercolors (which by the way are amazing! SO vibrant) and some Faber-Castell Aqua Pencils.  I finished off the card with some beaded trim ribbon, a slice of In Bloom paper from MME, and some pearls.

Although pleased with the outcome, I am still no Vincent van Gogh, but I will have to do this again. It's out of my comfort zone, but fun to do!

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek and wish you all a great Monday!
