Candy Monster Jar-Stamping and Painting on Glass

Hello everyone!!

I would like to start off first to thank everyone once again who voted for me during the Torendi DT Competition. I made it through all three rounds, but did bow out of the competition on this last round. The winner was to be chosen by who got the highest vote, and I cannot compete with two gals who had huge followings with over 400 people voting for them! But thanks again-really!

This week was a little tough on my little men as DH has left for Iraq. But they are soon back to their usual routines and have accepted his deployme

nt with no issues! (Thank goodness!!) They really have been helpful knowing it's just the three of us for now....

NOW! I got into thinking for some fun things for Halloween and thought what it would take to stamp and paint on glass. And this is what I came up with:

I stamped the jar using Sweet Tooth Terrors from Our Craft Lounge with Black Staz-On. I then used paint made for glass to color in the image using a fine brush. This technique is not quick, but in the end you will have a fun jar that will last! Once you are done painting the image, you let it cure for about 48 hours. Once it is cured, you bake it for 30 min. at 325 degrees in your oven. This will make the image permanent and allow for handwashing. I then used my nestibilities for the top and stamped the sentiment from the set "Happy Halloween" and "Candy Monster" for the tag using my SU! small Tag punch. I finished it off with some ribbon and candy on the inside and its ready for giving! I hope you enjoyed this project and thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek!!

Warm Winter Wishes- Blog Hop

I have two projects to share with you.... the first is definitely to keep you warm!

I created a little box/holder that can hold up to 4 packets of hot chocolate or your own mixture in a bag or two packets with a small packet of marshmallows. I used Basic Grey's Mellow collection for the DP and the die cut girl. I couldn't resist using the mug from Carolyn's set and adding that to the girl. I used my decorative scissors for the snow on the bottom and MSC snowflake punch for a little wintery touch. I then used my largest scallop circle nestibilites for the topper, embossed, and stamped the sentiment repeatedly between Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip. I added a few more die cuts from the DP collection to the topper and finished it off with some brads and self adhesive crystals. Everything is popped up and the heart on the mug has a touch of Ranger Glossy Accents. A simple little gift that anyone is sure to love!

The second project is a pop up card. For the front, I started using the sewing machine to make uneven lines on the mat and added some Basic Grey Figgy Pudding DP to the bottom. I added some Chocolate Chip SU! Grosgrain ribbon and punched out two snowflakes with my MSC punch. I punched out the sentiment circles and faux stitched around that. I finished it off by adding some silver Stickles to the snowflakes and some self adhesive metal dots to the bottom.

For the inside, I followed the instructions on making pop up cards which you can find in the Resource section of SCS. I stamped the snowman from the set and colored him in using Copics. I added a smidgen of Stickles to the snow and then added Versamark to the entire image and heat embossed in clear. Once heated and cooled, I cut him out. I took the sentiment block in the set that says "Love" all over and stamped that throughout my scalloped circle nestibilites. I finished off the inside with a small strip of DP to match the front and sponged the edges with Cranberry Crisp. I have also included a side view.

In the meantime, here is a quick Halloween treat tin I created for one of the boys teachers using Our Craft Lounge's set of Sweet Tooth Terrors. (I just {heart} their products!!!)

I used one of my many nugget tins (remember those??) and filled a bag with some M&M's to place inside the tin. I decorate the outside of the tin with some Halloween DP and added some ric rack around the tin top. I then created a sleeve for the center which can slide off to get to the goodies! The images were colored in using Copics and clear ep was put on top. The moon was punched out and the edges sponged, and the stamped tree with the crows are from Inkadinkado!

For this card, I whipped out my dusty sewing machine so that I could sew the linen ribbon to the center of my card. I am actually quite proud of myself to have been able to make this design since I am, by no means, a seamstress!! LOL!! The bird was colored in with Prismamarkers and is from a set by Pink Paisley. I used PTI's Mixed Messages for the sentiment and Cosmo Crickets Mini Stack of Boyfriend for the DP. I popped up the bird and scalloped circle and finished it off with two metal self adhesive dots. Simple and cute!

Voting Begins!! And a Yummy Halloween Treat Envelope

Now, a yummy Halloween treat envelope!! I saw something similar to this somewhere, but a bit more complex and I thought how simple and inexpensive it would be to make it yourself. It is also a cute idea for kids either in a classroom or party.

Here is the front of the envelope which I decorated using PTI's set of Spooky Sweets II. I really wanted to make this fairly simple so that it can reproduced quickly.

Here is the back of the envelope when it is closed. Again, using Spooky Sweets II, I used the web and spider to complete this look. I cut out the spider and popped it up on the web. I used SU! Scalloped Punch for the base and the 1 1/2" for the main circle.

The envelope is closed using a piece of velcro.

And here is the envelope open. How it is made is below:

I used a 6.5"x6.5" piece of DP, which in this case is an unknown one, and ran my tape along the outer edges and center. I laid a piece of wax paper (Parchment will do too!) on top and trimmed to size. I turned the paper diagonally and folded in the corners and running tape on bottom flap on the edges. I added my small piece of velcro and then proceeded to decorate the front and back. Add a yummy cookie and you are done!! This can be adjusted to fit any size cookie! I know I have seen some serious, yummy, large size cookies at my local store, so it can be a great little surprise for the kids!!

A Crafty Thoughtful Thanks!

Have I mentioned how much I love Our Craft Lounge?? Have you seen their most recent release?? I can never decide which ones I like the most as I like it ALL!! One of the sets is called Thankful Flourishes and I just {HEART} it! Again... thank you Joy and Cambria!

I used Purely Pomegranate as the base and for the ribbon and worked the coloring around that. I randomly stamped different flourishes throughout my MFT Perfect Panels and stamped the smaller flower in-between. I accented the remainder using the circle/flower design in different spots. Copics were used to color and highlight the flowers and outline the flourishes. I used my long rectangular nestibilities for the sentiment accented with self adhesive crystals. I finished it off with the ribbon and my yellow Copic Spica pen which I dotted in the center of the colored circles. A very simple yet elegant card. Thanks so much for stopping by and looking!!

Amate's Western October

Happy Saturday!

I have October's project for Amate Studios to share with you all. This month's theme is Western and I thought I would create a belt-buckle and matching pendant.

I used some faux leather material for the base of the buckle and pendant. On the buckle, I stamped the dust trail from SU!'s set of Bronc Buster using Staz on Brown and Opaque White. For the horse, I stamped the image on hard chipboard, embossed it with Tim Holtz's Distress embossing powder and cut it out. I cut the backs of some mini brads for the outline of the buckle and burnt the edges for a bit more distress-like look.

The pendant was made cutting the faux leather to size, inserting a pre made, self adhesive Swarovski Crystal design to the top and adding a metal star by Nunn Design as the main image. It was then completely covered using Judikin's Diamond Glaze to the entire pendant, and while still wet, punch out a lot of little circles using my 1/16th hole punch and applying it all around the edges. A Crafty Halloween

Hi everyone!! Happy Fall!!

I know I have been what I call, a sporadic blogger lately, but there has been so much going on here in my house that I had a hard time getting caught up!! I am caught up so now it's time to catch up on blog postings!! I am into the final weeks before my husband deploys to Iraq, so I hope you will bear with me if I do get sporadic once again. My family must come first and we are trying to enjoy our time.

I did get a moment to ink up a new set by Our Craft Lounge called Sweet Tooth Terrors. I LOVE this set!! It is so fun and there is so much you can do with it!! {Thank you Joy!} You must go and check out all the fun new sets they released!!

I stamped the image with Momento Tuxedo Black and colored the "monster" in and the sentiment with Copics and Prismacolor markers. I highlighted the candy corn yellow spots with my yellow Copic Spica pen for some added sparkle to accent the dp paper that has some to! The base cs is a shimmer rust color that I purchased somewhere!! I can't remember where! But I love it and its a perfect color for the season. I added some ribbon for a finished touch and popped up the main image and sentiment with dimensionals.

Amate Back to School Creation

Hi all!! I hope you are having a great short week! I have two projects to share with you today made for Amate Studios. The theme was Back to School so I couldn't help making two pieces with the teachers in mind.

For this first piece, I created the pendant using UTEE, some school brads, a paper clip, stamps, and grunge board. I finished the piece off with Red agate and blue quartz along with some message beads by Blue Moon beads. Below is the full instruction. Instructions:

1. Cut Grungeboard to fit inside of Amate Studios pendant and add alcohol inks in the color scheme you like.
2. Slip on paperclip and attach Grungeboard to Amate Studios pendant with glue and bend off the back of the brads so you are left with just the tops.
3. Stamp the alphabits set onto card stock and punch out the letters alternating the shapes.
4. Arrange the brads and letters in the design you like and attach all elements using glue.
5. Pre-heat Melting Pot with lid on for about 5-7 minutes.
6. Add UTEE.
7. Once UTEE has melted, add UTEE Flex and mix.
8. Carefully add UTEE to the finished Amate Studios pendant and allow to cool.
9. Cut the beading wire to desired length and attach the toggle clasp to the end.
10. String beads in your desired patterned adding the message beads throughout.
11. Add Amate Studios pendant to the center and continue stringing the beads in the chosen pattern.
12. Finish necklace by attaching the other end of the toggle-Enjoy!

This second piece was done using some 6/0 size seed beads, message beads, glossy accents, and the computer to generate the sentiment within the focal piece. Again, the full instruction is below.

Instructions:

1. Layer the inside of the connector component with the Versamark Ink and sprinkle the gold embossing powder. Heat with your heat tool until melted.
2. On the computer, type out the word “Kindness” using various fonts for a bit of a funky look and printout. Spray lightly with Acrylic Spray to seal in the ink from your printer. (if you are using a laser printer, you do NOT need to seal) Cut out to fit pendant.
3. Using your ½” circle punch, punch out a piece of the designer paper and glue it to your pendant in the location you have chosen. Attach your printed Kindness to the top. Place your mini flower also in your chosen location.
4. Fill in the component with Glossy Accents and place crystals in your desired spots. Let dry. Once dry, fill in any remaining spots that may have settled for a smooth top. At this time, sprinkle lightly a very small amount of glitter to the top. Let dry.
5. Using your Alcohol Inks, sponge around the component until you have your desired look with your chosen colors to tone down the bright metal. Let dry.
6. Cut out Dandyline string in the length you want and begin stringing in the seed beads having two strands. Tie those strands to the inside of your toggle clasp and secure with your E-6000 glue. Let dry completely.
7. While the necklace is drying, begin stringing smaller strands around the base of the component and alternating the look with the inspiration pendants.
8. Attach the component to your finished necklace with a jumpring and enjoy!

Jewelry with MFT on Labor Day!!

Happy Labor Day!! I hope you all having a great long weekend and the weather is cooperating with your plans!! The weather here has cooled down significantly and we are enjoying every moment of it!!

It is the second Monday of the month, so you know that means Jewelry with MFT! Today's project is something new that I tried out and is really quite simple if you have the products to use. This is not something everyone will have on hand, but if you are really getting into jewelry and being able to use your stamps along with it, this is the hottest thing right now! While at CHA in Orlando, I really wanted to get my hands on some Resin. Two part Resin is a lot to be bothered with so the new UV curing Resin seemed right up my ally!! LOL! To do this, it required a UV lamp and of course some UV Resin. Now, if you don't have the lamp but have the resin, good ol' sunshine outside will also do the trick. It may take a little longer, but it works! There are so many uses to make fun jewelry or fun embellishments for cards using components and resin. You can put pictures, other embellishments, or anything your mind comes up with inside blank components to make for something you will enjoy for a very long time!

For this project, I used a flat metal rectangular jewelry component by Nunn Designs and stamped the flower from "Farm Friends" onto the metal with Versamark and put some black ep onto it. Heat it and let cool. Once cooled, I painted the flower using some acrylic paint and let that dry. It dries fast so there is no need to wait a long time. I put some UV Resin on the top of the whole component and placed that under the UV lamp. Total curing process is about 20 min but it can vary depending on how big the coverage of the item you are curing. Once it has cured, I glued on some rhinestones to the corners and added leather to make the necklace for something simple and fun to wear!

Sweet Moments

Happy Hump Day to you all... I have made it through half of the first week of school-well, the boys have made it through! I have enjoyed it... : ) Like this card, it has been sweet moments! Not totally relaxing, but busy doing errands that were put off. DH and I have finally decided after 7 long years to baptize our boys. It was not because we didn't want to, but due to other issues beyond our control. We are very excited to have this accomplishment come to fruition, that I have been busy making the arrangements, invites, etc! We are very much looking forward to this weekend...

For this card, I used some dp I had lying around which is unknown, but was so fun in colors that it seemed only appropriate to have a sundae be the main image! This was a set that was sent to me by my sweet friend Billie (myboys) I think about a year ago!! I had put it away and then totally forgot about it!! I was a must to use! It is a great set with ice cream and cupcakes. So cute! I used my Nestibilities for the center panels and colored in the image with my Copics. I highlighted the areas using my Copic Spica pens in pink, yellow, and clear for some fun sparkle. The main image and sentiment are popped up and I added some fun scrap ribbon and some flower brads for a finishing touch!

Bloom where your are Planted

Part of your life in the military is that you move so often. And it always seems to happen faster when you have the best friends and neighbors. It never really gets easier but the excitement of a new place can sometimes numb the empty feeling. Not always, but sometimes. My dh and I never really say "goodbye;" we adopted an old Calvary saying, "Until our next post." The military is a surprisingly small world that you are most likely to run into the same people again. However, for my neighbor, she is a different branch of the military that we probably won't run into each other again. Facebook will be our bridge of contact. : )

Materials Used: PTI Spiral Bouquet, PTI Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet Ink, PTI Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet cs, Copic Spica in clear, MS Lace punch, 1/4" SU! Circle punch, Scor-Pal

I made this card using one of my favorite PTI set called Spiral Bouquet. For the top half I used my Scor-Pal to create the diagonal lines and punched out coordinating circles using my 1/4" punch. I used PTI's colormatch cs and ink in Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet. I stamped the images and in both colors and outlines the flowers with my clear Copic Spica pen. I used my MS lace punch for the border and added an additional panel to the back of the card to give it a little more pop of color.

Cammie and a Little Back to School Humor

I am back after a very full two weeks vacation with the family. We went to Disney World, Charleston, SC, saw their grandmother, and Williamsburg, VA to Water Country. It was packed with lots of things to do and my boys enjoyed every moment of it! To start it off, we were able to have dinner and spend some time with Cammie and her family. It was so good to see her and our boys enjoyed their reunion; all the boys! (Husbands included! LOL) It was Cammie's dh's birthday, so it was even more special to be able to spend it with them and help celebrate. Here are two pictures from that dinner...

"It's the most, wonderful time of the year..." Ok, maybe not, but today is the first day of school for my boys and after a very full summer with bickering, banter, and lots of sun, I am ready to see them off! But the down side? Homework!! Really, is it for them or us?? LOL!! So, in honor of today, I created a card that my neighbor suggested... a back to school "party" card!

Now, this is a silly card that I popped out so please don't be too judgmental on it!! : ) For this card, I used Carolyn King's stamp by Gina K of the little boy and Wineabella by Stamping Bella. I stamped the images and colored them in with both Copics and Prismamarkers. I stamped them again, colored what part of the image I wanted popped up, and cut it out; in this instance, the backpack and dress. Now, I apparently cannot cut out shapes very good, so just imagine that sign is perfect! I made the party horn and punched out the hat. I sponged in the ground and sky, added some ribbon and a sentiment from PTI's set mixed messages. Just a little humor to start your day!! I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

Fast Single Layer Cards

"V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N, and we're having fun!" Connie Francis said it right! LOL!!

I mentioned yesterday that I would show you some simple one layer cards. I love doing these types of card when I am in a hurry to give out a car or just need a simple Thank you or something.

For these, I used Gina K's Pure Luxury Cardstock in white for my base. I {{HEART}} this paper and you can find them in various colors on her site. This cardstock is awesome for single layer cards as it is thick and Copic markers do not bleed through.

I used Amuses' baby set for the tickled pink card and colored it in with Copics. I added some self adhesive crystals for a little dimension. For the treasure chest, I used The Cat's Pajamas Pirate set. I colored in the chest with Copics and colored in the coins with Copic Spica Pens in Yellow and some Ranger Stickles on the diamonds for a little sparkle. I finished it off with some self adhesive metal dots.

Amate Studios Birthday Bracelet

It's another day of some jewelry! Here is a simple way to make someone you know a quick and fun birthday bracelet!

For this, I used Amate Studios Base Element Circle Link bracelet. I then chose some fun paper by Imaginisce that had some cupcakes and confetti for some fun birthday dp. The bracelet link is a perfect 3/4" so I used my SU! 3/4" circle punch to punch out random designs off the paper to use as my base image. This paper was double sided, so I alternated between the images and the polka dot side. I then stamped two sentiments using Papertrey's Mixed Messages set and an unknown party hat punch for an additional focus. I cut out the sentiments to fit and decorated the party hat using different Copic Spica Pens. I then placed and glued all my pieces with the circle components and filled each one with Ranger's Glossy Accents. This makes for an easy filler that is available everywhere and for a quick piece to complete. Before the Glossy Accents dries, top it with some fun crystals for added bling!

Jewelry with MFT-Stamping on Shell Pendants

Hi everyone!! Today is Jewelry with MFT, so be sure to check out the forum at SCS here for more information on todays projects of stamping on shells. I have two to share with you....

For these necklaces, I stamped on two different types of shell pendant. This is easy to do makes for some simple and personalized gifts! You can find these shell pendants just about anywhere beads are sold and can even find them at Wal-mart! They are very inexpensive and cost no more than $3.00 depending on where it is purchased.

The blue shell on the left is a Capiz shell. This shell is very thin and delicate while the shell on the right, is an abalone shell which is thicker and a bit more sturdier. For the Capiz shell, I stamped on it using MFT's Bling Bet and Bundles of Bouquets. I stamped the initial using Encore silver stamp pad and then topping it with some silver EP. I used my heat tool to melt the EP and let cool. I then stamped the decorative corner using my SU! White Craft pad and Stampendous Transparent Stardust EP. I heated that and let it cool. I finished it off by gluing some Swarovski Crystal to the initial and beaded some silver glass beads mixed with Swarovski crystals onto beading wire. Simple!

On the abalone shell, I used MFT's Boho Blossom set which I stamped the larger flower with Versamark and then topped with Gold EP. I heated that until melted and let it cool. I then stamped "Love" across the flower using Versamark again and used Black detail EP. I heated that carefully so as to not re-melt the gold EP. I thought it need just a little more, so I finished it off by added some Swarovski crystals throughout and outlined the shell using my Black Copic marker for some definition. I beaded some black seed beads and a bail and was finished!!

I sure hope those who subscribe receive this posting! I posted yesterday but for some reason it never went out!! Check out the post below for yesterdays creation and some photos from CHA!!

While at CHA, I picked up this Cat's Pajamas Pirates set which I just adore! It was fun creating with it... For this card, I stamped out the ship and pirate and colored it in using my Copics. I then stamped Versamark all over it and used SU!'s Glassy Glaze EP to top. I melted it and then cut out the images. I stamped the scroll on some cream cardstock and then burned the edges with a lighter while curling the edges. I stamped the sentiment in the center. I then took some grey cardstock which I used my decorative scissors to cut an obscure pattern and then then sponged the edges with black ink. I stamped the center using Stampendous background cube for some "crinkled" look to the paper. I placed all the pieces where I wanted it and popped up the images in its place. I added ribbon and some brads for a finishing touch! I plan on playing around with this set some more!!
