You Are My Sunshine!

It has been raining on and off these last couple of days here in NC, which is good but at the same time, prefer the sunshine!! I came across this cute Elzybell image that was given to me a while back and thought it would be perfect to pair up with MFT's Can you dig it sentiment of You are my sunshine!

I used some fun October Afternoon dp for the bg while adding a little stickles in the center of the flowers for some sparkle! (girl can never get enough sparkle!) I colored in the main image with my Copics and faux stitched around it. I used my MS scallop punch for the border while double punching the sentiment ovals with SU! Small Oval punch. I added some ribbon and metal dots, popped up the image and sentiment, and finished it off with a corner piece I made.

I wish you all sunny days and a wonderful start to a new week!! Thanks for peeking!!

Blog Candy Winner

Hi everyone!! I apologize for the delay in announcing the winner of the test-your-jewelry-skills giveaway! We had a pretty nasty storm roll through here last night, that lighting struck just on the other side of my house! Whatever it did, it has knocked out my phone and internet service since then, but they are still working on it to get it up and running. I am hoping that it will all be restored tomorrow. I tried announcing this from my Blackberry, but to no avail. (I need to figure that out) Then! My husband so gently reminds me," Hey honey! You know we have the wireless card in the laptop that you can use to connect to the internet." {DUH!} LOL!! All this time I am thinking I'm not connected!! Yeah, I think summer vacation is getting to me.... When does school start??

Ok! Without further delay... Here is our winner chosen by the dh random generator: 18

Sharon!! Come on down!

Jewelry with MFT...and your chance to win!

It's the second Monday of the month!! Time for Jewelry with MFT! This project is a versatile project which you can change around. It is an interchangeable bracelet by Amate Studios. I am giving you two views of each interchangeable component.
For this bracelet, I used MFT's Bling Bet for the lettering, along with some black UTEE, micro beads, Swarovski Crystals and Glossy Accents. The one thing you cannot tell in the picture is the background on the black UTEE. I stamped the UTEE using Stampendous Faux Background stamp to create some texture. However, I have learned that you lose the look of that texture once you add the Glossy Accents. It did keep the "wavy" look of it and still kept the simple fun look overall. This bracelet can be used to decorate anything that strikes your mood or another really fun monogram look. In order for the Bling Bet lettering to fit, I used my scanner to shrink the stamped image to size before attaching it to the component. Below is another used of the component and a much more simplified version:

For this oval component, I used the MFT's set of It's a Jungle Out There with the Giraffe as the main animal focus. I once again used my scanner to shrink it to size and then completed it with stamping the leaves and grass in the set to create my scene. I colored in the image with my Copics and glued the cardstock to the component before filling in the entire component with Ranger's Glossy Accents. Let dry and enjoy!! Simple and fun and with many possibilities!! For COMPLETE instructions, you can find it here and here in a PDF file so that you can try it out!! Be sure to check out MFT's store to purchase your own components!! BUT! Do you want to try creating your own jewelry? You can win it here!

I am giving away this gold heart component, along with some self adhesive pearls, and Ranger's Glossy Accent in Sepia for you to try out your jewelry skills!! All you have to do is leave a comment for your chance to win and all subcribers are entered twice!! A winner will be chosen Saturday AM... Good luck and have fun!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek!! I can't wait to share with you any fun and new innovative jewelry ideas and products when I return home from CHA! 2 more weeks!! The countdown begins!!! : )

Under the weather? Add a little sparkle!

This was the feeling in my household for a few days! My dh had contracted strep throat and luckily did not pass it along to anyone else! At the same time, I was asked to make a get well card for a friend who had surgery... appropriately timed I think! : ) I wanted to make this card cheery using some colorful dp by American Crafts.

I stamped the image from MFT's Rain or Shine and paper pieced her outfit using the same dp. I colored in the rest of the image with my Copics and added the grey cloud to the corner. I used my large SU! Oval punch for the sentiment and added some dots around. I finished the card with some ribbon and clear Dew Drops and popped up the image and sentiment. I hope this will cheer her up!

Materials Used: Riding Hood Red, American Crafts dp, White, MFT-Rain or Shine, unknown ribbon, Dew Drops, foam adhesive, Copics, Going Grey, Basic Grey, Ruby Red, Night of Navy.

Want to shake and sparkle?? Check this out:

This was made for Amate Studios for the 4th of July. I took a frame pendant and added a Ranger Capsule, Clear UTEE, and a 1x1 glass slide to create this. In the capsule, I added some micro beads, star confetti, and clear confetti to make this pendant a shaker. I finished it off with some Taylored Expressions Tiny Twinkles. For complete instructions to make your own pendant, check it here.

I have many more projects to share tomorrow and your chance to win your own jewelry component to create something fabulous! I am juggling a few things at time and getting ready to head out to CHA in Orlando at the end of the month!! Be sure to definitely check out the MFT Forum on SCS on Monday when I share with you July's creations using your MFT Stamps!!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!! I appreciate it!

Simple Friendship

HI everyone! I have many projects I need to get up on this blog but always seem to get pulled away! My boys are staying very active this summer and it is a matter of getting into a summertime groove of time management! LOL!! I wanted them busy, so I am getting just that!

This card is a simple card that I wanted to make with some beautiful DP that I had which is embossed and has glitter. I love the beach and anything to do with it, so I have focused a lot on using some of these "beachy" things I have and creating!

I made the DP as the main focus and added a sentiment from MFT's set of Boho Blossoms. I added some ribbon, dew drops with added Stickles, and a scalloped edge to complete the look. I popped up the sentiment with adhesive foam and was done! A 10 minute card!

Materials Used: SU! Baja Breeze, unknown dp, Stickles, Dew Drops, Oval punch, MFT-Boho Blossoms, Scallop edge punch, PTI ribbon, foam adhesive.

Tomorrow I will be posting some jewelry which I made using UTEE for a quick and fun piece to wear!! Keep checking the Amate Studios Blog to see all the great designs my fellow design team members have created! Also, don't forget that the second Monday of every month is Jewelry with MFT! Check the great MFT forum on SCS for my creations and instructions for this months piece I have in store to share! I know everyone is busy this summer, but I appreciate you stopping by and taking a peek!! Have a great 4th of July!!
