Moxie Fab Chevron Challenge - Second Post

Hello again!

Sorry for the second posting today.  I wanted to play along in the Moxie Fab Challenge of Chevrons today.  It actually can qualify in both the chevrons and negative challenges which I will submit to.

For this card, I used Kraft cs for both the base and top layer.  I used the chevron pattern paper from my Crate Paper Storyteller pad to show through the butterflies.  The butterflies are dies from The Cats Pajamas which I cut out on the top layer and placed the dp behind it.  I then took the butterflies to pop over the paper for some dimension.  I figured with these butterflies being intricate,  you are still able to see the paper behind it.  I then added more of the same paper at the bottom of the top layer before adding some pleated ribbon to it.  Here is a closer look at the butterflies.

The sentiment is from Flourishes new release of Inside and Out Congrats set and I finished the inside of the card using the same sentiment set to complete the look.

This card will go to my childhood friend who finally finished college and will be graduating in May! I am so proud of her! Thanks for peeking another time! Again, Happy Easter!

Moxie Fab Washi Challenge

Happy Easter everyone!

Just a quick card to share for the Moxie Fab Washi Tape challenge.

Washi Tape is fun to play with and this collection is actually one I found at my local Target.  For this, I layered the tape in the center of the base of the card and used my labels nesties to cut out the center of the top layer. I then used the negative of the top layer to pop up over the Washi.  I used Carolyn King's set of Stamp it Big! from Gina K for the sentiment which I stamped on a fishtale piece popped up and 'Best' stamped at the top of the negative.  What you can't tell in the picture is that the sentiment is a bit sparkly from going over the letters with my Spica pen.  I finished the card with a little bit more Washi on the bottom of the card and some rhinestones.  A clean, simple, and easy card!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a wonderful Easter!

A Tisket, A Tasket, I Wove a Paper Basket

It's Wednesday and time for another Hambo Hoedown Challenge! The challenge is to incorporate something woven into your project.  For mine, I wove a small basket with paper and made a pick using Bunny Basket.

I have always wanted to weave a basket with paper, and this challenge was a perfect moment to do it.  I colored the image with Copics and cut it out with my nesties, while the layering nesting cut, I used some matching cs to weave over that for another woven look.  I popped up the image and made my stick using some kraft cardstock. I finished it off with some Prima flowers, brads, and some ribbon. Perfect little basket for filling with treats and giving as a gift.

Here are some close ups of the basket and tag:

We hope you play along with us this week and link up your wonderful creation on the Hoedown blog! In the meantime, be sure to check out what the other Bacon Bits have been up to in creating for the challenge.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Sending Smiles - Timeless Tueday #213

Hi everyone!

This week's Timeless Tuesday challenge is brought to you by Maki and she is challenging you to do a little sewing! Don't sew? That's ok! Faux stitching is completely acceptable. :)

For my card, I decided to whip out my colored pencils and do some coloring without gamsol or other blending agent. I think it turned out ok, but I think I will be grabbing my Copics when it comes to coloring! :)  I was going for that soft feel, but without a blending agent, it took a little bit to achieve the look.

I used this month's release of Tulips for Friends and coloring in the single tulip in the set.  Once colored, I stamped the sentiment from the set directly over the tulip using Memento Black ink.  It was then cut out using MFT's Die-namic die while I used MME dp and sewed around the edges.  I did do some zig zag stitching down the middle where the two dp's  meet, but it ended up getting covered up with my dots.  I finished off the card by popping up the image and adding some rhinestone flourishes.

We hope you join us this week in the challenge, but in the meantime, be sure to check out the other wonderful creations from the Timeless Tuesday Team! Thanks for stopping by!

OCL Giveaway

Happy Monday all!

Well, it's our Spring Break this week and that is wonderful. What is not wonderful is Spring not Spring-ing! We woke up to snow this morning and yesterday was rainy and hailing.  I hope the rest of the week starts to look a little better! Otherwise, the kids and I will have some serious cabin fever and end up going back to school bouncing off walls! lol!

First, I want to announce my giveaway winners from Friday.  As I mentioned, I had a few sets left over from my card class, and since not too many commented, I have enough to send to each of you! So, Emily, Cathy, Birdies Mom, Glenda, and Stacy! Just email me your info and I will get them out to you! Thanks for commenting!

I have ANOTHER giveaway today and it is a stash of some Our Craft Lounge sets.  It is so sad to see them close, but sometimes, all good things must end.  These sets are so gently used that they are practically new.  I have also thrown in some never been used singles from Stamping Bella from their cruise in '09 and a Bam Pop single.  All you have to do is leave a comment and followers will get an additional entry.  I will pick a random winner Friday, March 29!  Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by!

10 Minute cards and Giveaway

Happy Friday!! YAY! It's Friday! And today is not just any ol' Friday... It will be Spring Break next week!! Shockingly, we do not have any big trips planned, but we do have some friends flying in for a few days, so the boys are thrilled to see their bestie and I am thrilled to have some girl time with my friend!

I was asked to do a card class social for our Battalion and we had about 32 people.  I was super busy cutting paper and making 3 different card layouts for yesterdays class.  But, the gals were happy and they now have some cards to send their husbands in Afghanistan.  I have two to share with you today.

These cards take less than 10 steps and about 10 minutes or less to put together.  I really had to make these as simple as possible for them due to time constraints on the room we had and because many of them have never done this before.  These kits had everything in them that you see here and all the gals had to do was tape it all together!  The first card was don't using some old MME dp that I have had in my stash I think for eternity. :) The sentiment is from Flourishes Just My Type set that I just love.  I used paper doilies for the back layer and popped the sentiment up.  I finished the card with some ribbon and rhinestones.  For the next card, I used The Cat's Pajamas The Mustache Set and coordinating dies.  I punched out the scallop circles with my mega punch from Marvey (just when you think you'd never use them again, it comes in handy and saves your die machine!) and used MFT's die-namics for the banner for the sentiment.  The middle panel was hand cut into fishtails and the dp is some old SU! Wanted paper I also had just lying around! The 'stache and the sentiment are popped up. So as you can see, super simple and quick!

Would you like a set of these cards to make? I have a few kits left over so just leave a comment and I will pick 2 random people to send them out to on Monday, March 25! Instructions will be included.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a fabulous Friday!

This weeks challenge is to use your favorite embellishment. We all have our favorites and mine are ribbon and rhinestones.

Now, what is your challenge? Here are the details:

Think Spring! Timeless Tuesday 212

Welcome to another week of Timeless Tuesday challenges! Ally is our hostess and she is challenging you to make a project that reminds you of Spring.  I am so ready for Spring after these cold days.  Ready for my flip flops and shorts! Aren't you?

For my card, I am using Flourishes new release of Tulips for Friends. This set is beautiful and wonderful to color!

I also used the new Perfectly Pierced window set from Spellbinders for Flourishes to cut out the image and the sentiment and lightly sponging the insides.  I colored in the image with Copics using the following colors after stamping it with black Memento ink.  For the sentiment, I used Memento in black and purple to break up the colors.

The dp is from American Crafts and the ribbon is from my stash while the rhinestones are from Recollections.  I finished the bow with a stick pin from Petaloo and popped up the image and sentiment.  I did finish the inside, but forgot to take a picture of it! (smack head) It mirrors the front and I stamped the single tulip in the corner with Memento Bamboo Leaves.

Don't forget to check out the other fabulous creations from the Timeless Tuesday Team! Thanks for stopping by!

Using Washi Tape To Mark Your Copics

TGIF!!

Boy! Keep these weeks flying! I love when my week goes by quickly and I am kept busy.  Especially during the time I want it to.

Today is a quick post wanting to share with you another use for your Washi Tape.  I don't know about you, but I feel like my supply is never ending.  I think I will need to do some decorating just to be able to use it down. : ) But lets talk decorating Copic barrels!  I know when coloring with Copics, I always tend to open the wrong end of my barrel to use and end up opening and closing so many times while coloring. {frustrating!} This idea of marking your markers is nothing new, but I thought it would be fun to use my Washi tape to mark the brush side of the marker.  I also tried to match a bit the marker colors with the colors of the tape. This picture is just a few of my Copics.

There you have it! So, instead of using electrical tape to mark the ends of your Copics, spruce it up and use that Washi!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Friday!!

It's Wednesday which means another Hoedown Challenge! Not only is there a challenge at the Hoedown, but I am challenging you as well!  And with my challenge, you have an opportunity to win some Hambo Stamps blog candy!

First, I want to share with you my card made for this weeks challenge of using scallops somewhere in your project.  Super easy! We have scallops of some shape or form somewhere in our stash, right?

For this, I colored the Bird Estate image with Copics and cut it out using my scallop rectangular nesties.  I used some dp from Paper Studio for the top layer while I used a large piece of scrap purple for the bottom layer.  I popped up the image and sentiment and finished the card with some ribbon in my scrap stash (SU!?) and some metal dots.

Now, what is your challenge? Here are the details:

  •  I am giving away a clear Hambo Stamps clear set of your choice by simply playing along in the Hambo Hoedown challenge this week, BUT...
  • a minimum of 5 people must play along in MY CHALLENGE here

It's Not Easy Being Green... Timeless Tuesday

Well, that's that Kermit would say. :)  It hasn't been "easy" around here lately as my boys both came down with Strep two different times, so there has been repeat DR visits and much cleaning! I have been praying (hard) that I will not get it and that this is the end for sick days! Blah...

It's Tuesday and I am excited to be your hostess this week over at the Timeless Tuesday Challenge Blog.  My challenge for you is to incorporate the color green into your project.

For my card, I used Old Fashion Florals  colored in with Copics and cut out using my oval nesties.  These beautiful flowers I'm sure, are not normally green, but I think it works.  :)

I sponged lightly around the embossed oval with some Distress Inks before popping it up over some dp from October Afternoon.  The dp is then layered over a paper doily and some cotton chevron trim.  Here are the Copic Collections used:

The sentiment is from Inside & Out- Happy.  'Happy' was stamped and cut out before popping it up, while St. Patty's Day is stamped directly onto the layer, finished with some self adhesive rhinestones from Zva Creative.  I used some sheer ribbon for the bow with an added floral rhinestone bunch for the center.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Be sure to see what wonderful creations the Timeless Tuesday Team have made! Have a great day...

Quick and Easy Baby Cards

Hi all! Happy Thursday! Tomorrow is Friday, so whoo hoo! :) I just wanted to share with you some quick baby cards I made using stickers and a CAS layout. These were made for two different couples who one had a girl and the other a boy.

I used some SU! cs in More Mustard and Papaya for the layer while using my cb folder in Swiss dots for embossing only the bottom portion of the top layer. I then punch out some squares to place the stickers on and popped them up. The card was finished with some ribbon and the sentiment, also from SU! The sentiment was layered and fish tailed.

Super easy and quick for me to pop them into the mail. I hope you all have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by!

Kiss Me! - Hambo Hoedown

Did I get your attention? : )  It's Wednesday, so time for another Hambo Hoedown!  Did you see the change to the Hoedown rules last week? That's right! You can use ANY image from any company to play along! So be sure to get out your favorite images and join us!

This weeks challenge is using this cute image called Monkey Leprechaun and to incorporate rainbow colors.

Isn't he fun?! And perfect for St. Patrick's Day... when you are not Irish! :)  This was great to do because I was able to use up some scraps I had in the rainbow colors and place them on the card base while I used my layer to be the image and sentiment.  I colored the image with Copics and added a little gravel to the ground.  You can't see it, but I added some yellow Spica pen to the coins for a little sparkle.

We hope you join us this week at the Hoedown.  Be sure to check out the other fabulous creations from the Bacon Bits! Make it a great day!

Blessings - Timeless Tuesday

It's another Tuesday which means another Timeless Tuesday Challenge!

Cindy is our hostess this week and she is challenging you to emboss on corrugate. (thin chipboard)  I used the February release of Easter Wishes for this card.

I embossed some thin chipboard I had using a CB folder.  I then used my Medallion die for the top layer using some old dp from SU!  The image was stamped and colored in using Copics and cut out with my nesties.  I popped up the image over some sheer ribbon.  I finished off the card using the new Victorian Frame dies for the sentiment which is also popped up.  The Copic colors used:
