Harvest Bunny

Happy Wednesday! That means its time to Hoedown!

This weeks challenge is to use the sketch below with Harvest Bunny to make a fabulous creation! :)

In my attempt to use some paper I have hoarded, I used some Basic Grey dp mellow. The image was colored with Copics and the center panel edges were punched using my MS border punch. I finished the card with some self adhesive bling and twill ribbon.

We hope you will be able to join us this week and play along in our challenge! Remember, you will receive next weeks digi image free just for playing along!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a looksy! Have a great day!

Whimsie School... (2nd Post)

Hi again!

Sorry for the second post, but I forgot I needed to have this card posted for my entry to be a guest designer with Whimsie Doodles.  Have you visited thier store? Super cute digis! Anyway, this is my card made for the entry.  Keep your fingers crossed! : )

The theme for this entry was back to school.  I left off a sentiment from the front so that I can use it sometime this year for my kids teacher with a sentiment that is appropriate for that moment.  I used an oldie but goodie dp from Cosmo Cricket called Dutch Girl.  I ALWAYS think of my BFF Carolyn when I see or use this paper.  It was her favorite go-to dp and she had made many cards with it! : ) I colored in the image with my Copics and sewed around the edges wonky style! I used some flourish rhinestones from Prima for the accents and finished it off with a Prima printed flower.

Thanks for peeking at my second creation today! : ) Have a great one!

Rock On!!!

Whew! Made it to Monday and past the boys birthday and their party!! It was a really fun birthday year for them since they turned 10 and one of my son's received a drum set! He has only been taking lessons for a few weeks but he is a true natural! Even his instructor is amazed and knows that he needed a set to continue this talent. So, the dh and I bit the bullet and bought him one and it's been a rocking house since! : )

In honor of that, I made his birthday card to represent it although I would have loved a stamp instead, perhaps in a silhouette form. It was hard to find locally and didn't have time to order, so I went with a sticker I found and worked with that.

I used 7 Gypsies collection of Off the Wall and thought that this was a good image to replicate arms going crazy at a concert! lol!  I distressed the twill ribbon with distress ink and used MFT's T-shirt set for the sentiment. I also distressed all the sides and added some antique brads to finish it off.

My son loved it so at least I know I did ok. : )   Thanks so much for taking a peek and hope you all have a fabulous start to the week!!

Curtains Everyone!! Broadway Bound {Blog Hop} ... Hambo Style!

Welcome to "Broadway Bound!" sponsored by Hambo Stamps! Today Hambo customers and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict Broadway show titles! It might be our favorite, or just one that was fun to design. If you arrived here from Kaylee's Blog you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start back at the beginning at the Hambo blog to make sure you are eligible for the hopper prize!

A prize will be awarded to one participant whose Broadway-themed creation tickles the Bacon Bits’ fancy in a hammin’ jammin’ way!  Another prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all of the blogs along the way. The winners will be announced on the Hambo company blog, Talk to the Ham, on Tuesday, September 25. We love comments anytime, but the deadline for prize entry comments is Sunday, September 23 at 5 PM CST. Don't miss it!

My creation is one that many may not remember even heard at all! Even I will admit that I have not seen this show or know much about it, but my stamp was a perfect match to this show with a great actor- David Hyde Pierce. It is called "Curtains."

Here is the orginal Playbill for the show:

I really thought of doing the spotlight technique for this card, but I didn't want to take away from the full, fun Hambo image!! So I kept it simple with the image being the focus.

Thanks for stopping by and dancing along Broadway Hambo style!! Here is the full line up of the hop:

Looking Up... On your 10th Birthday!

Things are looking up just fine here as today are my twins birthday! They turn 10 today, so we have hit the double digits! Time is certainly flying by as it really seemed like yesterday they just turned 9! I know it's the Hambo Hoedown but I have to share a photo of course! My kids love it when they can see they are Blog-famous for a day! :)

First, I will share with you my card made with this weeks Hambo image of Bird Balloon. The challenge to go along with this cutie is to use Chevrons in your creation.

For my card, I used some do from Basic Grey's PB& J collection that already had chevrons. I colored in the image with Copics while finishing the card with a button and some seam binding from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. I ran some natural twine through the button before attaching it to the ribbon.

Don't forget that this Friday September 21, is Hambo's customer Blog Hop! You don't want to miss it for your chance to win and see what wonderful creations you, the customers, make! Check out the details on the challenge blog.

Ok.... So here are my boys... Happy Birthday!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Wednesday!

Itchin'... to Write

Happy Monday all!! I hope you had a great weekend! Very relaxing in our household which is unusal. But I enjoyed it and it allowed myself to get caught up on a few things.  Except getting things ready for my boys birthday!

I made a card this weekend using Hambo Stamps and some new Echo Park dp.

The inside is finished with some matching dp but left blank for all that writing you've been itchin' to do! : ) I finished the card with some self adhesive metal dots, twine from The Twinery, and some black jute string from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope its a great one!!

Hello Cupcake...

I guess it's better to be late than never! I have had this card in the works in pieces for over a week.  Something had always come up to not be able to put it together, but I had to be sure it got done.  It is for the Featured Stamper on SCS two Sunday's ago and it was no other than another Bacon Bit on the Hambo DT! Carolina Little! Her gallery is full of such cute and wonderfully done cards.  You must check it out! Here is my card:

And this is the card I chose to case:

I used MFT's Pure Innocence line cut out and October Afternoon dp.  I used my sewing machine for the center edges and colored in the image with Copics. I finished it off using MFT's Die-namic large rose and flower die for the leaves, TCP felt, added a pearl to the center, and the same pearls to the top.  This was such a fun case and I loved her layout-CAS which you know I love.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek! Have a great Thursday!

We hope you will be able to play along with us! Check out the Hoedown blog for details on this challenge as well as details for our upcoming customer blog hop! Broadway baby! :)

Never Forgotten...

It is hard to believe that 11 years have gone by since 9/11 and that America is still at war; the longest ever in history.  We are at war because of 9/11.  11 years is a long time to always remember the real reason, politics aside, why military families are constantly say good-bye to their Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman, and Coastie's to help fight this war on terror and praying that thier loved one will be home again to say hello.  I know I don't forget because I am one of those families.  My sons and I have to soon say good-bye (again) to my husband as he leaves for a year to help protect the freedom of this country, and so that I can have this blog and you can have all the qualities of life you so enjoy.  Please take a moment to remember all of those who perished on September 11, 2001 and for all those military men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice- because of September 11.

Today's card is in remembrance of 9/11 and to thank our military for their selfless service.  I used this weeks Mojo Mondays sketch 258 and MFT's set of Godspeed.

DP is CTMH that has been in my stash, no joke, about 7 years!! I know... it's time to clean house I think! lol!  I sewed around the edge and used my nesties for the stars and circle cut outs.  I colored in the image with my Copics and popped up the image and circle panels.

Thank you for stopping by today and taking a moment to remember!! Have a great Tuesday!!

Happy Halloween!

Can you believe it?! Halloween is just around the corner! I honestly feel that it was Halloween last year, yesterday! That evening is so vivid in my mind still!! Halloween for us is the start of pulling out the seasons decorations much to my husbands liking! Erm... uh... I mean dis-like! LOL!! He is such a sport about always pulling out each holidays' decorations under all the grumbles about why I have to have it all... But what a smile on his face when it is all done and up! :)  Especially Christmas! So, I am trying to get into the spirit of Halloween by making my first card of the season!

For this card, I utitlized some MS dp I still have and some K&Co rub ons I found in my stash for the spiders.  I used MFT's mini rose die for the flowers which are finished with some rhinestones in the center and some Stickles on the edges.  Instead of stamping a sentiment, I used some MS ribbon I had and added it across like a banner.  The ribbon is some really pretty velvet and piping around it which didn't show in this picture, but I added a close up here.

Just a simple card to get my week (and holiday) started!! Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek!! Have a great Monday!

You Rock!

You all do of course! But today's card is about my son! :) I am trying to get a little ahead with my twins birthday coming up and have their cards done early. Both my boys play an instrument and this one is for my guitar playing wild man.

The paper is from 7 Gypsies (Off the Wall) and this image with some Chuck Taylor's and music notes fits my son perfectly! Distressed the edges and sponged some distress inks. The sentiment is from MFT which I stamped directly onto the dp. I added some fringe ribbon from The Canvas Corp. and hardware from my stash. I finished it off with some black jute twine from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Hopefully my son will like this card! Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek!

At our age...

Isn't that an open and loaded sentence? :) It's Wednesday already and I'm still working a day behind! Sorry for the small absence... We had company in town from Tuesday of last week until yesterday. But it was so great to have a full house with laughter, conversations, and smiles! So, for me, the completion of that sentence is this weeks Hambo Hoedown Challenge card created with this weeks image of Painter Mouse.

Yes ladies... Isn't that right? Make up application is just a little more involved than about 20 years ago. Lol! I wish I just had a peel on and off mask. That would be nice..

The challenge is to use paint splatters either by making it, paper, or any other creative way you can come up with. I used some paint and a straw to blow splatters onto some paper to make the background. I really like how it turned out- especially for something I haven't done since probably elementary school! The image was colored using Copics and cutout with my Spellbinder dies. I finished it off using some twine from Queen and Co and some self adhesive colored dots from Sei. Super fun and colorful!

We hope you are able to play along in the pigpen this week and if you do, don't forget to link it up on the challenge blog! Thanks for stopping by!
