Beaded Links

Here is a bracelet I made inspired by a bracelet that was worn by the receptionist at my eye doctor's office.  It was quite different and thought I wanted to try something a bit more off the wall based on the unique styling of her bracelet.

For this, I used some blank textured links which you can purchase at any lcs in the jewelry department.  I then used Ranger's Glossy Accents to act as my "glue." I mixed in a little container a combination of some pearlized cream and plain black seed beads.  While the glossy accents was still wet, I poured on some of my bead mixture on top keeping a careful eye to not wanting to cover the link holes.  I let each link dry completely before going over each link again with the glossy accents and sprinkling on a little bit of metal silver micro beads on top.  I let each link dry completely again and connected each one with some jump rings and finished it off with a toggle clasp.  Simple and fun! Perfect for creating some fun jewelry for the Spring and Summer using bright and festive colors.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Unity Blooper!

It has been so long since I have posted and I am trying to get back on the saddle again! It has been a crazy few weeks! Today was Unity's Blog Hop which I so eagerly wanted to participate in.  And... I forgot! : (

I love this sentiment stamp from Unity Stamps.  It has always been one of my favorite quotes.  This card is a 5.25"x5.25" and the main sentiment panel is popped up.  I added some of Taylored Expression's Tiny Twinkles for some sparkle and sheer ribbon.  Thanks for stopping and know that my daily postings will begin once again!

You probably thought...

I have abandoned my blog!! LOL!! I apologize for the long silence.  It has been a busy week and a half.  I hope this project will make up for it!

This is a ring made using a mix of black and clear UTEE with added Swarovski Crystals and metal micro beads.  I am not sure if you can see from the picture but I made a design in the UTEE to give it multiple rings throughout like a tree trunk.  To achieve this look, I rocked the ring gently back and forth as the UTEE was setting.  I really liked how this ring turned out-hope you do too!!  The base ring component is from Amate Studios.  Thanks for stopping by and looking! It is appreciated!

A last sketch and good bye

Here is Thursday's sketch for Sketches! {by Tamara}  This is my last sketch for Tamara as my time is up with the design team.  I would like to thank Tamara for a wonderful 6 months and all the talented ladies I served with.  Be sure to check out the other design teams blog or Tamara's blog for their creations!

For this card I used some acrylic hearts that I found at my lcs.  I cb the strips with Swiss Dots and added the hearts on top for dimension.  I sponged the edges and added the sentiment from MFT BCDzyns set of Heartbreaker which is popped up and finished off with some metal dots and ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Birthday Smile and an award

I know it has been a little quiet the last few days and I apologize.  Hopefully, this post will make up for it! : )  Before going into these two projects, I want to say Thank you to Olena for giving me this award!! It is nice to know my blog makes someone smile! You should stop by her blog... she does some awesome work!

I would like to pass this award along to a few people:

1~ Carolyn (I am still waiting to see the other award on your blog!) ; )
2~ Stacy
3~ Judy

This pendant is the start of something more to come over the next few months.  For this, I used Basic Grey's Ambrosia for the bg and added some Robin's Nest Dew Drops, Stickles, and Taylor's Tiny Twinkles.  For the sentiment, I used PTI's Mixed Messages and added a few pieces of the handmade paper by Amate Studios which is also the bg of my photo.  I then filled in the pendant with UTEE.  I finished it off with a multi-strand cotton string necklace.

Materials Used: Amate Studios, UTEE, Basic Grey, Dew Drops, Tiny Twinkles, PTI, stickles

To compliment this pendant, I made a card to match using the same dp for the bg and Inkadinkado for the main image.  I stamped the image and then added some Ranger Sepia Glossy Accents on the birds for dimension.  I cut out the main frame with my nestibilities and sponged in some color to soften the cs.  I dotted on some stickles to the dp for some added sparkle and a prima flower for an additional accent.  To bring in the handmade paper I layered a piece behind the flower and tied in a small piece into the ribbon.  I stamped the sentiment on the dp directly and popped up the second panel.

Materials Used: Basic Grey, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Inkadinkado, Birthday greetings, twill ribbon, Amate paper, MSC punch, Prima, stickles, dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look!

Complimentary Peanuts

The airlines may have cut out the free peanuts, but I am giving you all some at no charge! : )
This card was made for a friend, if you can believe it, about 3 weeks ago for making the cut on the Spellbinders Design Team call. I just forgot to load on my blog!  You can see the sentiment on the outside are great accolades and then the sentiment on the inside says, "Complimentary Peanuts." I don't know why, but this stamp made me laugh.  It is part of the SU! set of That's Funny and most of them fit my crazy personality, so it was a must have for me.  I kept it simple and it was a quick card to whip up.  I used Blue Bayou for the base with Kraft cs, white, and the SU! designer series paper.  I finished it off with some clear Page Pebbles from Making Memories over more of the designer series paper and some white ribbon.  The main image was colored in with my Copics and popped up.  Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek!

Materials Used: BB, White, Kraft, Designer series paper, That's funny, basic backgrounds, slit punch, page pebbles, ribbon, dimensionals
